Life as a student


Kehidupan sebagai seorang pelajar pastilah tidak dapat lari daripada peperiksaan. Apabila menyebut tentang peperiksaan, tidak dapat tidak, keputusan peperiksaan amatlah dititikberatkan. Sudah menjadi lumrah, yang mendapat markah tinggi itu bersalut kegembiraan dan mereka yang mendapat markah rendah berselubung duka.


Setelah keputusan peperiksaan keluar, terdapatlah beberapa orang pelajar yang tidak mendapat markah yang diharapkan. Selepas selesai bermuhasabah, maka mereka berpendapat, belajar bukan kerana Dean list, tetapi belajar kerana Allah. Sekali saya memandang seperti tidak ada yang silap.
Ya, benar! Belajar kerana Allah. Tidak ada yang silapnya di situ.
Matlamat yang disalahertikan
Bagi kebanyakkan pelajar tahun 1 di sini, dan saya percaya di mana-mana pun, semua orang akan meletakkan target, "Sekurang-kurangnya, Dean list". Saya juga pernah meletakkan targetsedemikian.
Timbulnya pendapat seperti di atas membuat aku sedikit lega. Tak dapat Dean list pun tidak mengapa. Janji, aku belajar kerana Allah. Namun aku tertanya-tanya, salahkah belajar keranaDean list? Tidak bolehkah kita belajar kerana Allah dan dalam pada masa yang sama mendapatDean list?
Pernah dikisahkan tentang seorang pemuda berperang kerana ingin mendapatkan bidadari. Maka timbul satu persoalan. Adakah dia berperang kerana Allah?
Ulama bersependapat mengatakan beliau berperang kerana Allah. Ini kerana, beliau yakin dengan balasan Allah janjikan iaitu balasan syurga dan bidadari. Berperang untuk menuntut janji-janji Allah.
Begitu jugalah dengan kita. Sunnatullah mengatakan mereka yang berusaha akan berjaya. Itu hukum alam. Syarat dan akibat. Mahukan akibat yang baik, ada syarat-syaratnya. Mahukan akibat yang kurang baik, ada syarat-syaratnya. Jadi bukankah mengejar kejayaan itu juga menunjukkan bahawa kita yakin dengan Allah? Percaya dengan sunnatullah?
Adakah mengejar kejayaan atau dalam konteks kita, Dean list adalah salah? Tidak kerana Allah?
Matlamat dan usaha
Tersebutlah kisah seorang pelajar yang terkejut dengan keputusan peperiksaan beliau. Maka terlintaslah dibenaknya, "Mesti aku belajar tidak ikhlas kerana Allah". Maka dibetulkan niatnya. Semester seterusnya keadaan yang sama berulang. Keputusan masih sama, tidak berubah. Maka hatinya berkata, "Mungkin aku tidak cukup ikhlas".  Kehidupannya diteruskan seperti biasa. Tidak apa yang berubah.
Dimana silapnya?
Cara kita bermuhasabah. Muhasabah niat itu tidak salah. Cuma muhasabah niat sahaja tanpa diteliti usaha yang telah kita berikan itulah yang silap. Mungkin saja usaha yang kita letakkan sudah sangat hebat, sehebat rakan-rakan kita yang lain. Rakan-rakan yang cemerlang dan selalu mendapat tempat teratas. Tapi, cukupkah?
Manusia itu berbeza. Usaha yang perlu bagi mereka dan kita tidak sama. Andai masih gagal sedangkan sudah berusaha. Itu maknanya, usaha kita belum cukup. Masih ada ruang untuk berusaha.
Jangan sampai koreksi niat setiap hari , keputusan masih juga sama. Akhirnya Tuhan yang dipersalahkan. Usah kita lupa, sunnatullah yang Allah tetapkan. Kejayaan tidak datang tanpa usaha. Yang bulat tidak datang bergolek, yang pipih tidak datang melayang.
Kesimpulan
Mengejar kejayaan itu tidak salah. Malah Islam sendiri menggalakan umatnya mengejar kejayaan dunia dan akhirat. Yang tinggalnya cuma, kenapa kita mahu berjaya. Niatlah kerana Allah kerana dengan itu segala benda yang baik dikira ibadah. Niatlah untuk mendapat kejayaan, kerana kita ialah umat yang Allah muliakan kerana Islam.

This systems include:

Transaction Processing Systems
In this systems, I can know and understand about online transaction processing (OLTP), transaction processing system (TPS) and online analytical processing (OLAP).

Decision Support Systems

In this systems, I know that DSS is to support managers and business professionals during decision making process. It also have three types quantitative models that is sensitivity analysis, what-if analysis and goal-seeking analysis.

Executive Information Systems
In this systems, I interested to know that EIS have a capabilities that is consolidation, drill-down and slice-and-dice.

Based on that, I more understand if every topic have a diagram and picture to see. That all :)

Accessing Organizational Information - Data warehouse

A data warehouse is a logical collection of information-gathered from many different operational databases-that supports business analysis activities and decision making tasks.
The purpose is to aggregate information throughout an organizational into a single repository in a such way that employees can make decisions and undertake business analysis activities.

I can understand about data warehouse, data marts and data mining.
Multidimensional database is include data warehouse and data marts.

I also know that information cleansing or scrubbing is a process that weeds out and fixes or discards inconsistent, incorrect or incomplete information.
In addition, business intelligence refers to applications and technologies that are used to gather, provide access to, and analyse data and information to support decision-making effort.
I also know three principal BI enablers are technology, people and corporate culture.

Storing Organizational Information - Database

Organizational information is stored in a database.
A database maintains information about various types of objects, events, people and places.

In Chapter 7, I can explain three types of database model.
I also understand what is entities and attributes, the definition of primary key and foreign key.
In business, database information offers many advantages, including;
increase flexibility
increase scalability and performance
reduced information redundancy
increase information integrity
increase information security

Besides that, I know that data-driven website is an interactive website and their advantages.
I understand a little bit about integration, forward and backward integration.

Valuing Organizational Information

Information is everywhere in an organization
What I have understand in this chapter is about the pyramid of levels, formats, and granularities of organizational information.

 I also can compare the definition value of transactional and analytical information.

Besides that, the value of timely information include real-time information and real-time systems.
In the value of quality information, it divide into two that is low and high quality information. They have there own characteristic of each quality. 
I can understand the costs of poor information and a little bit understanding about the benefits of good information.

organizational that support strategic initiatives


Employees across the organization must work closely together to develop strategic initiatives that create competitive advantages.
For chapter 5, I can compare the responsibilities of a chief information officer (CIO), chief technology officer (CTO), chief privacy officer (CPO), chief security officer (CSO), and chief knowledge officer (CKO).
Besides that, I can know the gap between IT people and business people and the primary reasons this gap exists.
Organizational fundamentals include ethics and security that I understand a little bit of them.

Measuring the success of Strategic Initiatives

In this chapter, I have learn and understand about..
The comparison between efficiency and effectiveness, that is
Efficiency IT metrics measure the performance of the IT system itself including throughput, speed, and availability.
Common types :
Throughput, Transaction speed, System availability, Information accuracy, Web traffic, Response time.
Effectiveness IT metrics measure the impact IT has on business processes and activities including customer satisfaction, conversion rates, and sell-through increases.
Common types :
Usability, Customer satisfaction, Conversion rates, Financial.
Besides that, I'm more understand about supply chain management metrics and customer relationship management metrics than website metrics.
In business process engineering and enterprise resources planning metrics, I only understand about their definition.
